Merge at TCEA 2026: Hands-On AR in the Heart of Texas
Thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth 638, joined a session, entered the Mega Merge Cube giveaway, or simply shared how you’re bringing learning to life for your students.
TCEA 2026 was a special one for the Merge team. Hosting educators from across Texas and beyond in our hometown of San Antonio made the week feel equal parts inspiring and energizing. From the moment the expo hall opened, Booth 638 was buzzing with conversations about hands-on learning, science engagement, and how augmented reality can fit naturally into real classrooms.
Throughout the conference, educators stopped by to explore what’s new with Merge EDU, get their hands on Merge Cubes, and experience augmented reality the way students do—by holding it, turning it, and interacting with it.

Booth 638: Where Learning Was Literally in Hand
At our booth, teachers, librarians, instructional coaches, and district leaders experienced live demos of Merge EDU across science, STEM, library, and enrichment use cases. Many visitors were seeing the Mega Merge Cube for the first time—its larger-than-life presence drawing people in and sparking conversations about collaboration, flexible seating, and community engagement.
Educators explored:
- Interactive science simulations they could touch and manipulate
- Standards-aligned 3D models that bring abstract concepts to life
- New and upcoming features focused on AI, animation, and creation
- Easy ways to get started immediately with a free Merge EDU trial
And of course, plenty of attendees went home with a free Merge Cube, ready to try hands-on AR with students right away.

Standing-Room-Only Sessions Featuring Merge EDU
Merge EDU was highlighted throughout the week in sessions across the convention center and expo hall. These presentations showed practical, classroom-ready ways educators are using augmented reality today—not as a futuristic add-on, but as an everyday learning tool.
From literacy and making, to TEKS-aligned science instruction, to quick-hit expo hall talks, attendees saw how Merge fits seamlessly into existing lessons while increasing student curiosity and engagement. The recurring theme we heard again and again: students learn differently when they can hold what they’re studying.
Sessions led by educators and edtech leaders like Shannon Miller, Jaime Donally, Leslie Fisher, and the Merge team sparked meaningful conversations about best practices, early learner considerations, and the evolving role of AR and VR in K–12 classrooms.

A Texas-Sized Thank You
What stood out most at TCEA 2026 wasn’t just the technology—it was the educators. We loved hearing stories from teachers already using Merge EDU in their classrooms, librarians building future-ready spaces, and administrators looking for tools that are engaging, flexible, and easy to implement.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth 638, joined a session, entered the Mega Merge Cube giveaway, or simply shared how you’re bringing learning to life for your students. TCEA reminded us why we do what we do—and why hands-on augmented reality continues to resonate so strongly in schools.
If you didn’t get a chance to connect with us at the conference, it’s not too late to explore Merge EDU and see how it can work in your learning environment.
